The FOLDMAKER 66 is a single lane automatic folder designed specifically for small piece linen such as terry towels, bath towels, bath mats etc. Capable of edges in or edges out fold using the programmable keyboard for correct presentation of insignia, emblems etc. Manually fed items receive one, two or thirding folds together with one cross fold only before being stacked onto an integral stack-receiving conveyor. Primary fold one is by means of a lift and release mechanism. Primary fold two is a measured float plate and roller fold. Both folds can be bypassed when cross fold and stack only is required. The well-proven high speed Weir Stac-N-Fold system adds a cross fold while simultaneously stacking the finished item onto the integral stack conveyor.
Pre-sorting of towels will be required to ensure uniform size and type of completed stacks.
After the set stack height has been reached, the completed stacks are discharged either to return to the operator or discharged to the rear of the machine for onward conveying to centralised packaging systems. The integral stack-receiving conveyor can also be manually indexed by the operator and may be positioned on either the right or left hand side of the FOLDMAKER 66 (to be confirmed at time of order).
A complete reject facility is fitted as standard which allows unhindered passage of rejected items to the rear of the FOLDMAKER 66 where they may be discharged to an awaiting laundry trolley or reject conveyor.
Full automation of completed stacks is achievable when the FOLDMAKER 66 is supplied with an integrated conveyor system option. This system may include duplex discharge conveyors incorporating a tipping conveyor that can transfer completed stacks onto a new or an existing auxiliary conveyor for onward delivery to packaging equipment.
